When you open a link inside apps such as WeChat, QQ or DingTalk, it loads in the app's built-in browser. These browsers block files downloaded by web pages: “Download” seems to do nothing, or says the download started but the file never shows up on your phone. It is a limit of the app, not something you did wrong.
When Diagramate detects one of these browsers, exporting opens a panel with a way to get each format:
Images: press and hold to save
Tap “Download PNG” (or “Copy PNG to clipboard”) and the panel shows the image:
- Press and hold the image and choose “Save Image” or “Add to Photos”.
- Or send it straight to someone from the same menu.
Word / PDF / PowerPoint / SVG: export in your browser
In-app browsers can't save these files, so the panel tells you first and doesn't use up a free export:
- Tap “⋯” in the top right and choose “Open in browser” (on iPhone it may say “Open in Safari”). This diagram opens there; no need to paste it again.
- Export again in the browser and the file saves normally.
- If there is no “Open in browser” option, tap “Copy link” in the panel and paste it into your phone's browser.
You can also tap “Save as PNG image instead” to keep an image right away.
If you know the app can download files, the panel has “Try downloading anyway”.
Where downloaded files go
Files downloaded in a mobile browser (Safari, Chrome and so on) don't go to your photos automatically:
- iPhone: Files app → Downloads.
- Android: your browser's Downloads list, or the Download folder in your file manager.
To put the image in your photos, tap “Save to Photos / Share” in the mobile Download panel and choose “Save Image” in the share sheet.
